  • Inspiring Hearts Through Dance - Naina Batra

Naina Batra, a well-known choreographer and dancer, has captured the hearts of millions with her Bollywood dance style. With over 1 million followers on YouTube, amassing over 200 million views, and more than 300,000 followers on Instagram, her passion for dance led to global recognition. Born and raised in Punjab, Batra discovered her love for Bollywood dance when she was just 7 years old. At age 10, she moved to California, where she continued to pursue her passion.

Performing at local events, she quickly garnered attention, eventually becoming a celebrated name in the dance community. Despite being a self-trained dancer, Batra’s choreography first gained wider acclaim with her Barso Re performance during her university days. However, it was her wedding dance to Nai Jaana in 2017 that indeed went viral, sparking a trend for bridal performances. In 2019, Batra’s performance at a friend's sangeet to Patt Le Gaya yet again became a sensation, creating another wedding dance trend.

Batra describes her approach to creating such memorable routines, “Over the years, I’ve noticed that dances resonate when they come from a genuine place. For me, my wedding performances come from a space of joy and excitement, and I try not to let any stress or pressure interfere with that. I believe audiences connect with authenticity. When they see me dancing without hesitation, just being myself, that strikes a chord. It’s not about chasing trends, but about creating something real and heartfelt.”

While Batra is known for her choreography and dance, she also balances a career as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Batra explains that both physiotherapy and dance have always been about balancing her priorities as they evolve through different stages of life. Now, as a new mother, the dynamic has shifted further. Working part-time as a physiotherapist and being a full-time mom naturally leaves less time for dance. However, even when life gets hectic, Batra ensures that dance still has a place in her routine.

Over the years, Batra has also found immense joy in teaching dance, reaching students globally through workshops and virtual classes. The personal connections she has built with her community have been a source of fulfillment. Batra highlights, “Some of the most rewarding moments in my journey have come from the incredible support of my loyal fans. While positive comments on social media are always appreciated, nothing compares to meeting my “Naach Fam” in person, whether it’s during workshops or even randomly around town. When someone stops to express their appreciation for my work, it truly touches me.”

Seeing the pride in her parents’ eyes as they witnessed her growing influence has also been a deeply meaningful experience for Batra. With her global reach and ability to connect with people through dance, she has established herself as more than just a performer—she’s an inspiration. Looking ahead, she is excited to explore new creative projects and collaborations. Her goal is to continue evolving, incorporating diverse dance styles and cultural elements into her work.

Undoubtedly, Naina Batra remains committed to sharing the true essence of dance. Her art has not only guided her success but has also made her a cherished figure in the dance community. As she continues to inspire and connect with dance enthusiasts worldwide, Naina Batra’s story remains a testament to the power of passion, authenticity, and the magic of dance.
