14 HP Youths In Riyadh Lockup; 2 Agents Booked

IANS, 30 Nov, 2018 07:54 PM
Two local travel agents were today booked for allegedly defrauding 14 youths from various villages of Sundernagar in Mandi district. The youths are currently lodged in a police station in Riyadh.

Saroj Kumari (35), whose husband Harjinder Singh is among those in the lockup, had filed a complaint on behalf of all 14 families against the two agents.

The youths had left on July 18. “They have been in the police station for 10 days. They have pleaded with their families to take up the issue with the state government so the Centre could raise the issue with Saudi Arabia for their early release,” said Saroj.

The agents allegedly charged Rs 90,000 each, promising driver’s job on a tourist visa. “After three months, they were promised work visa, but it didn’t happen,” claimed Saroj.
