45 People Killed As Private Bus Falls Into River In Shimla District

    As many as 45 people were killed as the private bus they were travelling in fell into the Tons river in Nerva area of Shimla district on Wednesday.
     
    The accident took place on the border of Sirmaur district, around 150 km from Shimla.
     
    The bus carrying more than 46 passengers was on its way to Tuini in Uttarakhand.
     
    The Sirmaur police reached the spot and started rescue operation. A team of doctors from Shimla and adjoining areas is on its way to the accident spot, police said.
     
    The conductor of the bus, who was among the two survivors, said a total of 46 people were on board.
     
    “We have called PWD, labour and forest guards to take the 44 bodies from the spot to the road above," DC Rohan Chand Thakur, who was on his way to the spot, said.
