7 Teachers Accused Of Sexually Harassing Schoolgirls In Odisha

    Seven teachers of a private school were today booked for allegedly sexually harassing 15 girl students of classes VIII and IX at Damonjodi in Odisha's Koraput district.
     
    District Child Protection Officer, Koraput, Rajshree Das claimed that she had received several complaints against the teachers from the students and inquired in to the allegations at the school on July 19.
     
    "During inquiry, about 15 girl students of classes VIII and IX complained that they were being sexually harassed by the seven teachers and identified them," Rajshree Das said.
     
    The girl students said the teachers harassed them in classrooms, libraries and in the school lawns, the officer said.
     
    "On the direction of the district administration a complaint was lodged against the seven teachers at Damanjodi police station after the students gave a written complaint to us," she said.
     
    On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered against the accused teachers of the school, IIC Damwnjodi police station, Jayant Behera said, adding necessary action will be taken once inquiry is completed.
