AAP Protest On Monday To Demand Sacking Of Irani, Sushma, Raje

Darpan News Desk IANS, 28 Jun, 2015 01:03 PM
The AAP will hold a protest march here on Monday demanding removal of union minister Smriti Irani for lying about her education degrees as well as External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje over "impropriety".

"We will march from Jantar Mantar towards Parliament," said Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti.

On Thursday, the AAP had threatened a nationwide agitation if Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not sack the three leaders within three days. At least 67 people were detained after over 500 AAP activists staged a noisy protest outside Irani's house here.

Bharti said the prime minister should take a cue from AAP government which accepted the resignation of law minister Jitender Singh Tomar, who had a fake law degree.

A Delhi court has taken cognisance of a complaint that Irani gave different educational qualifications in different election affidavits while Sushma Swaraj and Raje are under fire for purportedly helping Indian Premier League's former boss Lalit Modi who is a fugitive.
