A 27-year-old Air India passenger was held after gold bars worth more than Rs. 2.5 crore were seized from his possession at Karipur airport in Kozhikode, officials said today.
 
Acting on a tip-off, a team of DRI officials checked the baggage of Thaslim, a passenger from Bahrain, and seized the gold bars weighing 6.4 kgs.
 
The bars were found concealed inside the computer UPS of Thaslim, a native of Kavil in the district, the DRI officials said.
 
Thaslim was taken into custody for questioning, they said.
