Akali Dal constitutes 15-member manifesto committee for Lok Sabha polls

Chandigarh, April 3 (IANS) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday announced the formation of a 15-member manifesto committee for the Lok Sabha polls in Punjab for 13 seats slated on June 1.

He said the committee has 15 members and, in addition, six members have been added as special invitees, he added.
According to Sohana Police (formerly, Mohali) official Mukesh Sinha, the accused Shailesh Mehta, 71, was nabbed from his purported hideout at an old-age home in Ahmedabad following a FIR registered after a complaint lodged by Punjab businessman Viresh Singhal.

Fifty out of the 64 newly-elected MLAs of Congress have cases against them, which comes to 78 per cent of ruling party MLAs. The NGO said that 19 out of 39 MLAs of BRS (48 per cent) have cases against them. The percentage is highest at 87 per cent for the BJP as seven of its eight MLAs have criminal cases against them.
