Angela Merkel Arrives in Delhi. 'Namaste Chancellor' Tweets PM Modi

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted "Namaste" in welcome as German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived here on Sunday night on a three-day visit.
     
    "Namaste Chancellor Merkel! Warm welcome to you & the delegation. I look forward to fruitful discussions & strengthening India-Germany ties," tweeted Modi.
     
    Modi and Merkel would be meeting on Monday for the Third Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC).
     
    It will be their second bilateral meeting after six months, during which trade, security and the India-EU trade agreement are expected to figure.
     
    Merkel is on an India visit October 4-6. She will be accompanied by a large delegation comprising six cabinet ministers, and businesspersons, and will also be visiting Bengaluru. Modi will also travel to Bengaluru.
