Another Shocker: Landlord Rapes 3-Yr-old Girl In Patiala, Undergoing Treatment At Rajindra Hospital

Darpan News Desk IANS, 04 May, 2018 11:37 AM
A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her landlord at Babu Singh Colony here on Thursday.

The victim is undergoing treatment at Rajindra Hospital and is said to be stable.

Police inspector Darshan Singh said the information was received on Thursday night and a case had been registered on the statement of the victim’s mother.

The accused, identified as Surinder Singh, has been arrested.

The victim’s parents are daily-wage workers and were out of their home when the misdeed was committed. The crime took place at about 1 pm when the accused sexually assaulted the minor in his room.

There are two rooms on the premises and one is occupied by the accused, who happens to be the landlord, his wife and three kids. The victim’s family stayed in the second room.

Shockingly, the accused carried out the heinous crime in front of his five-year-old son.

In the evening, the son of the accused narrated the incident to the victim’s parents. The accused fled the spot on seeing his wife and neighbours gathering around the house.

An embarrassed father of the victim decided to vacate the house in the morning.

On the neighbours’ insistence the father of the victim filed a police complaint.

The accused landlord and the victim were migrants from Uttar Pradesh, said the police.

The father of the victim said Surinder was alcoholic and might be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crime.
