Bail granted to Deep Sidhu in relation to Republic Day violence at the Red Fort

  • Bail granted to Deep Sidhu in relation to Republic Day violence at the Red Fort

In the ongoing farmers protest one name that got the attention of the media was of  Deep Sidhu. Deep Sidhu is linked to the Republic Day violence at the Red Fort during which the monument sustained damage and he was arrested in teh Archeological Survey of India case.  On Monday, the Delhi court granted bail to actor-activist Deep Sidhu. 

Sidhu was given bail on a personal bond of 25,000 Rs and wanting him to be a part of the investigation and that he make himself available when the need arises. 

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management committee & National Spokesman of the Akali Dal shared a celebratory tweet on Sidhu's release . Sirsa has been in the forefront of getting those involved in the farmers protest released from jail. 

On April 17th, Sidhu was arrested due to the violence that erupted during the farmers' tractor march against the the current government's 3 agricultural bills, when a day before on April 16th he had been released in connection to another case that had to do with the farmers protest. 

Sidhu was arrested on February 9 in relation to the Republic Day Red Fort farmers' violent protest.
