Bikram Singh Majithia Questions Navjot Sidhu’s Loyalty To India

IANS, 19 Sep, 2018 01:08 PM
Senior Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia on Wednesday asked Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on which side of the fence was he on—India or Pakistan—in the wake of brutal killing of a BSF jawan by Pakistani troops.

“Sidhu should tell the nation which side of the fence he is on—India or Pakistan and whether he would now ask the Pakistan Army chief, whom he hugged, and his friend Pakistan PM Imran Khan why they were killing Indian soldiers on the international border and exporting terror into India,” said Majithia in a statement here.

Pakistani troops slit the throat of a BSF jawan after fatally shooting him along the international border (IB) near Jammu.

“Sidhu should tell (the public) whether he in agreement with Pakistan even now, especially at a time when barbarity was committed on an Indian soldier yesterday. Can he face soldier Narender Kumar’s family?” he asked.

Majithia said the Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesman had disclosed that no official communication had been sent to India for opening the Kartarpur corridor.

“Now with authorities, including External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and the official spokesman of the Pakistan Foreign Ministry, making it official that there was no formal communication from Pakistan to India about the Kartarpur corridor, Sidhu has nowhere to run. He must face the fact that he blatantly lied to cover up the despicable act of hugging the Pakistan Army chief.”

Majithia demanded Sidhu apologise to the people of the country and particularly the Sikh community for allegedly playing with their sentiments on a sensitive issue.
