New Delhi, April 21 (IANS) A 42-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was shot dead in the national capital, an official said on Thursday.
According to the official, the victim was identified as Jitender alias Jitu Choudhary, a resident of Mayur Vihar Phase 3.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East District) Priyanka Kashyap said the beat staff of Ghazipur police station, during patrolling on Wednesday evening, noticed a gathering near pocket C-1.
When the police reached the spot they found a man lying in a pool of blood in front of his house.
"The victim was having gunshot injuries and the public shifted the injured to a hospital in a private vehicle where he was decided brought dead," the DCP said.
Upon inspecting the crime scene, the police recovered a few empty cartridges and other important evidences from the spot.
"Search of eye witnesses and CCTV footage is being made. Legal action is being taken," the official added.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said his government had no role in the demolition of a portion of the historic ‘Darshani Deori’ at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Tarn Taran.
The 62-year-old is contesting an interim debt order obtained by the Indian banks in January this year, which relates to funds in the former Kingfisher Airlines boss current account with ICICI Bank in London.
The boy was missing since January 26, 2011 after he left his home without informing anyone. His mother had filed a police complaint then but the boy remained untraced.
Maneka Gandhi, who is contesting from Sultanpur parliamentary constituency, also accused the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister of not being loyal to anyone.
Timarpur, North Delhi, Delhi: The incident happened on Monday around 2.30 pm when Ravi Kumar, a resident of Yograj Colony in Gandhi Vihar area, was out on his bike to buy cooler grass pads from a nearby market, they said.
