BJP-led Alliance Will Win Bihar Polls, Says NDTV Exit Poll

Darpan News Desk IANS, 06 Nov, 2015 11:07 AM
The BJP and its allies are predicted to nudge ahead of the Grand Alliance to win the Bihar assembly polls, said exit poll by NDTV released on Friday.

According to the poll, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance was poised to win 120-130 seats in the 243-member assembly, while the Grand Alliance comprising the Janata Dal-United, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress is poised to win 105-115 seats.

Others were expected to win 5-10 seats, the poll said.

According to NDTV, the exit poll had a massive sample size of 76,000. It made predictions across all five phases of polls in the state.

The exit polls released Thursday were sharply split on who would get to rule the state.

While three of the nine surveys at the end of five rounds of polling predicted a clear win for the BJP-led alliance and another gave an upper hand to it, five exit polls forecast a narrow or clear majority to the Grand Alliance.
