BSP Lodges FIR Against Dayashankar Singh For Comparing Mayawati To Prostitute

    A case was registered against BJP leader Dayashankar Singh late on Wednesday night for his abusive statement against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, police said.
     
    The case was registered at the Hazratganj police station by Mewa Lal Gautam who said the now-sacked BJP state Vice-President's statement had violated the honour of a Dalit woman and tried to foment trouble and tension between two communities. 
     
    The police lodged the FIR against Singh under Sections 153-A, 504 and 509 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. 
     
     
    Police said appropriate action would be taken after investigating the charges.
     
    The complainant also submitted a compact disc containing a clipping of the news conference of the BJP leader in Mau on Tuesday.
     
    The BSP, meanwhile, threatened a statewide agitation against the BJP on Thursday following which police presence around the BJP offices in the state was strengthened.
     
    The district administration in Lucknow asked BSP leaders to hold their demonstration at the designated 'dharna sthal' in the state capital and not in Hazratganj where the BJP state headquarters is located.
     
    Earlier, the BJP sacked Dayashankar Singh from all party posts.
     
    Singh said in Mau on Tuesday that the BSP chief was giving party tickets based on the amount of money paid to her, and that even a prostitute was better than her.
