Caught On Camera: Baba Ramdev tries to hush BJP candidate about money

Sumesh Sharma Darpan, 18 Apr, 2014 10:26 PM
Baba Ramdev is facing major embarrassment due to a video clip which shows Yoga Guru in conversation with the BJP's Lok Sabha candidate in Alwar, Mahant Chandnath.

In the video apparently recorded just before a press conference, Chandnath is heard telling the yoga guru about difficulty in raising money ("paise le aane mein badi dikat ho rahi hai") and Ramdev is heard admonishing him as the cameras are on ( "yahan baat karna bandh karo, bawle ho kya?).

Chandnath is engaged in a tough contest in Alwar with union minister Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, who won the seat comfortably in 2009.

When contacted, Chandnath denied that he had spoken to Ramdev about his fund-crunch. But the Congress leaders are leaving no opportunity to slam the BJP candidate and the Yoga Guru. They have asked the Election Commission to arrest the Yoga Guru and the BJP's Alwar nominee for allegedly distributing money to voters.
