Class X Dalit Boy Arshdeep Singh ‘Beaten Up’ By Classmates

    A Dalit student of Class X at a private school in the nearby Badali village was allegedly beaten up by students. The boy sustained injuries and became unconscious. He was admitted to the Civil Hospital, Kharar.


    A video of the incident has gone viral on social media following which Dalit leaders held a protest and sought action against those behind it.


    Jujhar Singh said his son Arshdeep Singh was severely beaten up by his classmates, who also made the video of the incident viral to defame the boy.


    The victim was admitted to a private hospital. His urine reportedly had blood.


    Principal of the school OP Sharma said on the day of the incident, he was on leave. The next day, he expelled one of the accused students.


    Kharar Sadar SHO Bhagwant Singh said they were probing the matter.
