Delhi policemen learning how to tackle cyber crime

Darpan News Desk, IANS, 17 Apr, 2014 11:00 AM
As many as 65 Delhi Police officials are being trained to tackle the growing menace of cyber crime, officials said Thursday.

All the 65 officials of the ranks between additional deputy commissioner to sub-inspector will be trained through the awareness programme conducted by HDFC Bank in partnership with Mahindra Special Services Group, said Additional Commissioner of Police V.V. Chaudhary.

The two-day programme began Thursday and will end Friday. The officials will be trained in northeast Delhi's Seemapuri police station, he said.

HDFC is conducting the programme as part of an endeavour to educate and create awareness on security in various banking channels, from ATMs to online across key stakeholders, including law enforcement officers, HDFC Bank's senior vice president Vijay Kamath told IANS.

The programme will cover various aspects of investigating cyber crime, such as how to identify and deal with skimming scams, vishing, phishing, data counterfeiting, SIM duplication and email threats, among others, he said.
