Darpan News Desk IANS, 13 Apr, 2015 11:12 AM
The 59 passengers and eight crew members of a Jet Airways flight from Varanasi faced a major scare Tuesday and were subject to emergency evacuation Monday when their aircraft developed a technical snag while landing at Khajuraho.

Jet Airways said in a statement that flight 9W2423, a B737-800, experienced a technical problem with the landing gear after landing at Khajuraho - a World Heritage site in Madhya Pradesh, famous for its 12th century temples.

"Safety chutes were deployed and all the 59 passengers and eight crew on board the aircraft disembarked safely and were transferred to the terminal. Jet Airways is making arrangements to transfer outbound guests to Varanasi and Delhi," the airline said.

"An additional flight is also being operated on the Delhi-Varanasi sector to assist in accommodating the outbound guests. The directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed of the incident"."
