Former Jathedar Gurmukh Singh Claims Dera Sacha Sauda Supporters Threatened Him

IANS, 19 Jun, 2017 01:05 PM
Former acting Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib Giani Gurmukh Singh claimed on Monday that he received threats from supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa.

Singh said he received threatening letters that appeared to be from supporters of the controversial Dera at his ancestral home in Arif Ke village in Ferozepur.

The threats have been reported to Director General of Police, Punjab, the SGPC and the Amritsar Police.

Singh was dismissed from the position of Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib, one of the five temporal seats of Sikhism, for raising his voice against SGPC's flip- flop decision of exonerating controversial Dera Sirsa head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for a 2007 blasphemous act.
