Gurugram Rape Accused Confesses To Nine More Similar Gruesome Cases

Darpan News Desk IANS, 20 Nov, 2018 01:44 PM
A rape accused nabbed from Jhansi has turned out to be a shrewd paedophile serial killer who has confessed to the rape and murder of nine girls in the last two years.

Sunil (20), who had more than 1,000 police personnel chasing him, was picked up from Magarpur village in Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh.

The shocking revelation came to fore during his preliminary investigation where he not only owned up to the brutal rape and murder of a three-year-old girl on November 11, but also confessed to eight other murders including two in Gurugram, four in Delhi, and one each in Jhansi and Gwalior.

His confession has solved the blind murder cases of two other girls.

The police, which has taken the accused on eight days remand, said they had sought case details from MP and UP police and recommended psychological analysis of the accused.

“We will not comment on his mental state till psychological analysis is done but yes he confessed targeting nine young girls, including this one till date. He would go to bhandaras, pick an unattended young girl, rape and murder her and them dump the body in secluded areas.

“So far he shows no remorse and remembers minutest details of each of these cases including the day they happened and what he had in bhandara that day,” said DCP Sumit Kuhar.

A senior investigator revealed that the accused said his two basic needs in life were getting free tasty fried food at local bhandaras and getting young ‘pre-puberty’ girls to satisfy sexual desires.

“He says he did not need money for same. He just wanted money for travelling in or out of the city and would thus work for a day or two and get money. He had a calendar of all bhandaras being held in the city date-wise and would pick his targets from there.

“He would pick a girl who seemed to be not accompanied by anyone . He was shrewed enough to maintain his anonymity by raping and killing and disposing the body in secluded areas. There was no fixed home, workplace, no mobile number, no friends nothing that could be used to trace or trail him,” said the official.

It was this time that he deviated from his pattern and lured the girl from near her home and was thus seen by people and caught on camera that gave major leads to the police.

While the police is waiting for other case details to confirm uniformity of brutalities inflicted on victims, investigation supported his confession as all the victims as per police had broken legs and skull, a trademark of his killing.

“He liked to see them scream and did not want them to escape so would break their leg first and then rape them before squashing their skull,” added the investigator.

Meanwhile, DCP Sumit Kuhar said that it took biggest interstate combing operation to nab him.

“Over 1200 cops went around questioning 2000 people holding bhandaras disguised as laborers or beggars before we got his lead. We expected a shrwed criminal but the fact that he killed eight other girls is shocking for us also. We suspect him of many other unreported crimes too and are investigating,” said the DCP.
