Gurugram Woman Threatens To Jump Off Building After Being Fired, Gets Job Back

Darpan News Desk IANS, 29 May, 2019 07:39 PM

The woman who became an overnight internet sensation owing to the suicide threat she made after being reportedly fired from her job, has managed to get reinstated.

On May 24, the woan had threatened to jump from the terrace of her office in Sector 18 in Gurugram. However, the police and the company management had managed to coax her to climb down from the terrace.

Meanwhile, onlookers had shot a video of the suicide attempt, which went viral on social media.
The woman has now reportedly been hired as a permanent employee by the company.

For the past six months, the woman was working on a probationary basis at a Rajasthan-based infrastructure company’s corporate office in Gurugram.

According to police, the company had decided not to hire the woman on a permanent basis after her probation ended on May 24. Following this, she threatened to kill herself. The woman claimed that she was being targeted by the management for highlighting the fact that ‘they did not have the proper environment for women employees’.

One of the senior managers of the company, however, claimed that the woman was not being hired on account of unsatisfactory performance.

No FIR has been registered in the incident but the reinstatement has started an online debate about employees using suicide threats to blackmail managements.
