Haryana Shocker: Sarpanch Beats Two Widows Publicly Over A Construction Work

IANS, 19 May, 2017 12:21 PM

Family members of a sarpanch in Bhudhana village at Rewari allegedly thrashed and abused two widows over construction of a drain in front of their house.

The family members could be seen thrashing and abusing the two women, a video of which went viral on social media. The incident dates back to May 15.

As per reports, a drain was being constructed in the village by the Panchayat. The two women objected and wanted the height of the drain to be lowered. This led to a dispute, which resulted in manhandling of the women.

Sarpanch Mukesh and Sarpanch Devar Chandrabhan reached the spot and abused the two women and attacked them.

Sarpanch Chandrabhan also alleged that the women tore his clothes.

The police have registered a case against four members of the sarpanch's family
