Highs Hit A New Low As Day Chill Returns In Punjab, Haryana

    While the minimum temperature at most places across Haryana and Punjab showed an upward trend Sunday, it was the turn of the maximum temperatures to hit a new low.
     
    At most places in both states, the maximum temperatures were three to eight degrees below average, weather officials said here Sunday.
     
    Due to this, the chill factor in the day was more than in the night.
     
    The minimum temperatures were three to six degrees above average Sunday.
     
    Chandigarh recorded a high of 13 degrees, eight degrees below average. The minimum temperature here was 11.2 degrees, six degrees above average.
     
    In Haryana, Ambala and Karnal recorded highs of 14 and 15 degrees, five and four degrees below average.
     
    In Punjab, Ludhiana was the coldest with the maximum temperature of 13.8, five degrees below average. Amritsar and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 15.8 and 15.1 degrees respectively.
     
    The minimum temperature in Amritsar was six degrees, three degrees above average.
     
    Weather officials said that dry weather would be witnessed over the region in the next two days with moderate to dense fog at some places.
