Honeypreet Moves High Court Seeking Bail In Panchkula Violence Case

Darpan News Desk IANS, 29 Apr, 2019 08:16 PM

Honeypreet Insan, the adopted daughter of jailed Dera Sacha Sauda chief, on Monday moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court for her bail in the Panchkula violence case, citing long incarceration as the ground.

Honeypreet said she surrendered in the case in October 2017. Several accused in the matter have since been granted bail.

Following the conviction of Sirsa-based Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in two rape cases at the Panchkula CBI court in August 2017 there had been largescale violence in Panchkula and elsewhere.

Honeypreet was accused of inciting violence and hatching a plan for Ram Rahim to “escape” after his conviction. She was later arrested.
