HS Phoolka Will Form Group To End 'Politicisation' of SGPC

Darpan News Desk IANS, 08 Jan, 2019 12:24 AM

HS Phoolka on Monday said that he would form a group to end alleged politicisation of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, he said that the people from the group would not contest SGPC elections.

Justice Kuldeep Singh would be the Patron of the group, he said, adding that the aim of the group would be to end politicisation of the SGPC.

Phoolka, who has fought the legal battle for the 1984 anti-Sikh riots victims, had last week resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party.

The move came amid speculation over possibility of an alliance between the Congress and the AAP for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
