'I Will Kill Myself': Indian TikTok Star Over Fake Obscene Video Being Circulated

Darpan News Desk IANS, 28 Nov, 2019 09:39 PM

The Rajasthan Police had arrested Shankarlal Jaat from Bytu in the Barmer district for posting fake and objectionable videos of renowned Rajasthani dancer and tik-tok star Priya Gupta, said Chopasani Housing Board police station (Jodhpur) SHO Anand Singh.

Speaking to IANS, Singh said, "The accused is behind bars and is being interrogated."

Priya has threatened to commit suicide unless the fake obscene video being circulated in her name is removed from social media and the culprit arrested. The video, posted on Monday evening, has gone viral.

"I will kill myself. I have worked hard and can't see someone ruining it," she said in a video post on Facebook.

Priya, popular as Sona Babu in Rajasthan, said in her video message that she was "not the girl in the video" and requested the police as well as public to trace the culprit.

"Not only me, everyone knows I am not the girl in the video. People who know me have said someone is trying to defame me," Priya said.

"I couldn't sleep because whoever has done this is at large. I do videos and dance on stage to earn daily bread for me and my family. But people took me wrong and defamed me by making such kind of obscene video," she said.

Stating that today it has happened with her and later it can happen with any other woman or girl, she appealed the people and the police to find the culprit as soon as possible.

Finally, she threatened of dire consequences if the culprit was not identified and arrested.

However, she did not take the call when IANS tried to contact her.
