Indian Woman Calling Self 'Cuty' Arrested For Extorting Money From Men On Dating Websites

Darpan News Desk IANS, 11 Nov, 2016 03:04 PM
A woman was arrested today for allegedly extorting money from various persons after chatting with them on dating websites, police said.

The accused, identified as B Rajeshwari, cheated her victims in the name of dating chat and extorted huge money by creating fake profiles in various dating websites, they said.

According to police, she uploaded family photos and mobile numbers on dating websites of those men who refused to give her money, stated a release issued by Cyberabad Police.

The incident came to light after a software employee lodged a complaint with Cyber Crime wing last week stating that he had chatted with one girl with profile name 'Cuty' (27) on a dating site last month, wherein he was asked to book four movie tickets for which he agreed.

"He booked the movie tickets and sent the booking Id to her mobile number from his mobile number. Through his mobile number, she got his name and searched on his social network accounts, and got his Ids and she accessed all his family photos and downloaded them," police said.

On October 28, she called him and asked him to remit Rs. 3500 to her account and threatened to post all his family photos on the dating site if he didn't oblige, police said.

"After he remitted Rs. 3,500 into her account, she again called him and demanded another Rs. 50,000. Thereafter, she published all his family photos in two different dating sites and also put the status message.

"Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested Rajeshwari today and on interrogation it is disclosed that she had hatched a plan to earn easy money by cheating the innocent persons who are contacting her on dating sites," police said.

According to police, Rajeshwari is habituated to creating fake profiles on dating websites and chatting with people and later uploading their family photos.
