Jalandhar ASI Gurbaksh Singh Kills Wife, Then Self With Service Revolver

    ASI Gurbaksh Singh, who was posted in PAP and residing in Rama Mandi here, on Tuesday shot his wife and then himself with his service revolver.


    The incident occurred when the ASI’s wife, Vandana, was going towards washroom this morning around 7.30 am.


    The cause of the incident is yet to be known. The couple is survived by a son and a daughter.


    SHO Ramamandi Dakoha Sewa Singh said: “The children of the ASI, Rupinder Kaur (19) and Prabhjot Singh (17), are in a shock and are not in a condition to speak anything about the incident.”

     

    He said that they just said that their parents had an argument around a week ago and since then they were a bit upset.


    They said nothing happened the night before the incident and they slept normally after dinner like any other day.


    The ASI shot the bullet on his wife's head before shooting himself, the SHO said.


    Investigations are underway. More details awaited.
