J&K: Two non-local labrouers shot at by terrorists

Srinagar, April 22 (IANS) Two non-local labrouers were injured at Nowgam in Srinagar district on Friday after terrorists fired upon them, officials said.
The victims, both from West Bengal, were rushed to the SMHS hospital in Srinagar, where the condition of one is stated to be critical while the other is stable.
"Terrorists fired upon two non-local labourers in the Nowgam area on the outskirts of Srinagar. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway to nab the miscreants," the police said.
Amarinder Singh won the state for the Congress in the February 2017 assembly election with a thumping majority and gave the leadership hope that the BJP onslaught could be checked.
“China has never recognised India and Pakistan as nuclear countries. Our position on this has never changed," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang told a media briefing here.
Amarinder Singh expressed happiness over the fact that talks to thrash out the modalities for the Kartarpur Corridor were on track despite the tensions.
Photographs from the solemn occasion showed Squadron Leader Aarti Singh holding back tears as senior civil and defence officers paid homage to her husband.
