Kejriwal Reveals Alleged Swiss Bank Accounts Of Amarinder's Family

IANS, 21 Nov, 2016 12:44 PM
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday sought to throw a bombshell by revealing the alleged Swiss bank account numbers of PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh’s wife Preneet Kaur and his son Raninder Singh which were rubbished by Amarinder as old and unauthenticated documents.

Waving a piece of paper at the AAP workers and people at his second “Inqlaab rally” at Kot Shamir, Kejriwal said he had fulfilled his promise to the people of Punjab by coming with proof of Swiss bank accounts of Amarinder’s wife Preneet Kaur and his son Raninder Singh.

He however, neither named the said Swiss bank nor did he distribute the copy of the paper he was holding.

Kejriwal quoted two account numbers, alleging that these two were opened by Preneet Kaur and Raninder Singh in 2005. He also quoted the account number of a trust which they had allegedly formed.

“Amarinder and his family kept sending their ‘loot’ money in these accounts since 2005. It is a well known fact that he had almost gone bankrupt before he formed his government in 2002. His ancestors’ money had got exhausted by 2002 and the entire quantum of wealth he acquired after coming to power was earned by bleeding the people of Punjab,” Kejriwal said.

He was accompanied by senior AAP leaders, including Bhagwant Mann, and AAP candidates from Talwandi Sabo and Bathinda (rural) constituencies Prof. Baljinder Kaur and Rupinder Kaur Ruby respectively.

Kejriwal also dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct raids on the Badals and Capt Amarinder Singh if he was serious in digging out black money.

“Badals have maximum black money. Similarly, I am giving the proof of Capt Amarinder’s black money stashed in Swiss banks. Modi’s so called black money drive has failed to touch both the bigwigs and it has only tormented the common man who has nothing to hide,” Kejriwal said.

Amarinder however ridiculed the AAP’s attack on him and his family. He accused Arvind Kejriwal of acting as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s ‘paid agent’.

“He is raking up fabricated and politically motivated charges of the existence of Swiss bank accounts in the name of my family members by releasing old and unauthenticated documents”, Amarinder said.

Coming to issues concerning Punjab, Kejriwal said once known as the “Land of Bhangra”, Punjab was now known all over the world as the “Land of Drugs”.

“How can Bhagwant make Punjabis laugh now when they have been devastated by Badals and Capt Amarinder?” he added
