Kejriwal to join safai karamcharis near PM's house

Darpan News Desk IANS, 01 Oct, 2014 10:28 AM
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal will join the conservancy staff in cleanliness drive Thursday at a slum - a stone's throw from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official residence in the heart of the capital.

"The former chief minister will reach BR Camp at 7 a.m. (Thursday) and join the safai karamcharis," AAP spokesperson Nagendar Sharma said Wednesday.

BR Camp is situated across the Race Course Road where Modi's official residence is located.

"Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is mere tokenism. Arvind will join the safai karamcharis at 7 a.m. the time when they actually work," Sharma said.

Modi will launch Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Thursday - Mahatma Gandhi's birthday - in the capital.

The AAP has made it clear that it will not join the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan officially.
