Man Held With One Kg Heroin In Delhi

Darpan News Desk IANS, 24 May, 2015 12:34 PM
A man working as a drug dealer for the past 20 years was arrested in Delhi on Sunday with one kg heroin, estimated at Rs.4 crore in the international market, police said.

Rampal, a resident of East Gokulpuri in east Delhi, was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell from the Loni flyover on the Wazirabad Road in east Delhi.

"One kg heroin was recovered from Rampal's possession. He had been involved in drug dealing for the last 20 years. He had bought the heroin from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh to supply it to various drug peddlers in Delhi and Haryana," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Yadav.

A case has been registered in this connection.

A mobile phone and a motorbike used in drug trafficking were also seized.

Police said that Rampal was arrested four times earlier in cases of drug dealing.

Rampal has a good network for supplying heroin in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajashthan and Madhya Pradesh. He used to get heroin from two people -- Shabir and Shankar -- from Madhya Pradesh.

Police said efforts were on to arrest other people involved in this racket.
