Modi Wishes Sonia Gandhi On Her 68th Birthday

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday conveyed his good wishes to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on her 68th birthday.
     
    "Best wishes to Congress President Sonia Gandhi on her birthday. May Almighty bless her with a long and healthy life," Modi tweeted.
     
    Congress general secretary Ajay Maken later said Gandhi thanked Modi for his good wishes on her birthday.
     
    Gandhi had decided not to celebrate her birthday in view of the terror strikes in Jammu and Kashmir and and Maoist attacks in Chhattisgarh.
     
    "In view of the tragic terror/naxal attacks in J&K and Chhattisgarh, Sonia Gandhi has asked Congressmen not to celebrate her birthday," the party said in a tweet Monday.
     
    Sonia Gandhi was born Dec 9, 1946, in Italy. She is the longest serving president of the Congress.
