Moosewala murder: Two shooters of Maharashtra module identified

New Delhi, June 10 (IANS) The Special Cell of Delhi Police has identified two shooters of Maharashtra module that were involved in the brutal killing of Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala.
The identity of the two accused shooters -- Santosh Yadav and Nav Nath Suryawanshi -- was revealed during the interrogation of their close aide, Sidhesh Hiraman Kamle a.k.a. Mahakaal, who was arrested from Pune during a joint operation by the Delhi Police and the Maharashtra Police.
Special Commissioner of Police, H.S. Dhaliwal, said both the shooters were paid Rs 3.5 lakh each to commit the gruesome murder of the Punjabi singer.
"It was Mahakaal who introduced both these shooters to the main perpetrators and got Rs 50,000 for it," the senior police official said.
He also said that the Special Cell has so far identified six of the eight shooters, and among those "the police can confirm the role of 4 shooters".
During the last media briefing on June 8, Dhaliwal said since the killing of Sidhu Moosewala, four teams of Special Cell were working on it and the probe has so far revealed that Lawrence Bishnoi is the mastermind behind the singer's killing.
Moosewala, 28, was shot dead on May 29 while he was travelling in a car and around a dozen assailants fired over 30 shots at him. The singer's autopsy report revealed that his body bore 19 bullet injury marks.
Talwandi Sabo Power Limited, a private firm based in Mansa, took the help of a middleman and allegedly paid Rs 50 lakh to get the visa issued for the Chinese nationals which would help it in completing a project before the deadline, according to the CBI.
The former Chief Minister hoped the state government, instead of adopting a confrontationist attitude, will co-operate and co-ordinate with the Central government to handle all the security and other issues Punjab is challenged with.
As the year-long protest against the Centre's farm laws at the Delhi borders ended in November last year with the revoking of the three Central farm laws, hundreds of Punjab farmers on Tuesday gathered on the outskirts of the state capital demanding compensation of Rs 500 per quintal for those who suffered losses due to early onset of early summer.
Based on a specific information about the presence of four suspicious persons in Ahmedabad, a team was formed under Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kanubhai Patel, which detained the four persons from the Sardarnagar area on the evening of May 12.
Furnishing details, Deputy Commissioner of Police (north), Sagar Singh Kalsi, said some complaints were received on the MHA's Cyber Crime Portal regarding extortion by fake Crime Branch and YouTube officials on the pretext of lodging police complaints over obscene videos of victims and uploading of the same on YouTube.
As many as 61 complainants listed their grievances before the Chief Minister during the 'Lok Milni'. He directed top officers present on the occasion to ensure immediate resolution of these complaints in a time-bound and result-oriented manner.
