Mumbai Cop's Wife Found Murdered; Bloody Smiley Drawn Next To Body

Darpan News Desk IANS, 24 May, 2017 01:02 PM
The Mumbai Police on Wednesday said they are looking for the son of a senior police officer after the body of his wife was discovered at their home early this morning.

According to police, Inspector Dyaneshwar Ganore discovered the body of his wife Deepali after returning home in suburban Vakola.

Ganore, who led the investigating team in the Sheena Bora murder case, returned home shortly before midnight to find the door locked.
After waiting outside for nearly two hours, Ganore found the key to his flat under a dustbin outside.

On opening the door, he found the blood-soaked body of his wife lying on the floor.  She was taken to the VN Desai Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Beside Deepali’s body, were messages written in her blood that read: “Tired of her. Catch me and hang me.” The message was followed by a bloody smiley.

A shocked Ganore told police that he suspected his son Siddhant, 21, of the crime.

The officer told investigators that the youth and his mother had frequent rows over his poor grades. Siddhant had dropped out of engineering college, police said.

Police who questioned Siddhant’s friends were told that the youth had stopped communicating with them over the past several months and had stopped interacting with people on social media.

Neighbours told the police that the mother and son had a quarrel earlier in the day. Police officials felt that Siddhant may have stabbed his mother after the argument and escaped.

Several stab wounds were found on her body, including one on her neck, police said. Police said they have launched a manhunt for Siddhant.
