A man has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly slapping his 4-year-old son repeatedly, the police said on Monday.
Azruddin Qutybuddin Shaikh, 30, was arrested after a video of him slapping his son went viral, Senior Inspector Deepak Pagare said.
"The man said he hit the child as he was constantly crying. The video was shot by his wife," he added.
Police said that the man has been charged under the Juvenile Justice Act but was released on bail.
“The meeting is just between Sidhu and Rahul. No joining is likely tomorrow (Wednesday). A formal announcement is expected later this week,” sources said.
While assembly elections are likely to be held in the last week of January or early February, as per Election Commission of India officials, the Congress is still grappling with the names of its candidates for the 117 constituencies.

Accused Birbal, who works as a labourer, is a neighbour of the victim. He was arrested from his residence in Harijan Basti in north Delhi, they said.
