Navjot Sidhu Asks Badals To Speak To Him Directly Than Through Workers

IANS, 15 May, 2017 01:05 PM
Asking the Badals to directly speak to him instead of using small-time workers as mouthpieces, Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday alleged that the Badals were responsible for the state not being in a position to run major projects, like Smart City, Swachh Bharat, AMRUT and BRTS.

He said the state awaited Rs 168 crore for Ludhiana; the Centre said no grants would be released for Jalandhar and Amritsar till the grants for the earlier projects were used. Both the cities had got Rs 25 crore in the original share.

The Punjab government would try to match the revenue through alternative sources, including mining and auction of land.

The state government would bring a white paper on the financial situation of the state in the forthcoming Assembly session in June, he said.
