Now, Gippy Grewal Gets Extortion Call From Punjab Gangster Dilpreet Dhahan

    After Punjabi pop singer Parmish Verma, gangster Dilpreet Singh has now threatened famous Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal.
     
     
    According to sources, Dilpreet Singh threatened Grewal over a WatsApp call, asking him for extortion money. The gangster has threatened to kill Grewal if he fails to meet his demand.
     
     
    While Gippy boarded a flight to Canada on Saturday and is expected to stay there for at least a month, the police seem confused. Speaking to the Chandigarh Tribune, Mohali SSP Kuldeep Chahal said they had registered an FIR at the Phase VIII police station. However, SHO Gurjant Singh refused to comment, saying that he was busy all day long for personal reasons.
     
     
    Gippy’s family has confirmed about such a call received on WhatsApp. When asked, the SSP admitted to not having any evidence of the call. “Gippy has not given any number from which the call was made, but that is part of the investigation.”
     
    Sources said Gippy pointed out that it was an extortion call. However, the police did not confirm it.
     
    Gippy, who is currently busy with his recently released Punjabi-language movie Carry on Jatta 2, is known for belting hits like Oscar, Angreji Beat, Hello Hello and many others.
     
     
     
     
    Earlier Dilpreet Singh had threatened singer Parmish Verma over police control room number 100. Parmish was shot at while coming back home late at night on April 13. Later, Dilpreet had claimed responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post. Dilpreet had also threatened to kill four employees of the Punjab and Haryana High Court
     
    Five days ago, Navjot Singh, a budding singer, was found dead in Dera Bassi but the reason for the same is yet to be ascertained.
     
     
    Ropar resident Dilpreet Dhahan had escaped from the Punjab Police custody in July 2016 with the help of his fellow gangsters while he was being shifted from the Ropar jail to the Hoshiarpur jail in a drugs case.
     
     
     
     
    According to Punjab Police records, Dilpreet is a proclaimed offender (PO) and wanted in a number of cases in and outside the state. Most of the cases relate to murder, attempt to murder, extortion and the Arms Act.
