Now, Jyotiraditya Scindia Supports Centre’s Move On J-K

Darpan News Desk IANS, 06 Aug, 2019 08:37 PM

After Congress veteran Janardan Dwivedi extended his support the decision to abrogate provisions of Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, too, has backed the Centre’s move against the party line.

The Congress has opposed the move in both houses, accusing the government of dividing the state into two union territories when its state assembly was not there. It also termed the decision unconstitutional.

“I support the move on #JammuAndKashmir & #Ladakh and its full integration into union of India,” Scindia said in tweet.

However, he added, it would have been better if constitutional process had been followed. “Would have been better if constitutional process had been followed.

Nevertheless, this is in our country’s interest and I support this,” he added.

Meanwhile, a Rajasthan minister, Ashok Chandna, also welcomed the Centre's decision.

Chandana, the state youth affairs and sports minister, however, said that it was his personal view.

"It is my personal view. Abrogating Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir is the first decision of the government, which I welcome," he tweeted.

"...But implementation of abrogating Article 370 should be done peacefully and in the environment of trust instead of dictatorial. It should be disposed peacefully so that no citizen of the country face any problem in the future," he added.
