Passenger from Dubai held at IGI with 1,000 grams gold

New Delhi, Aug 8 (IANS) An Indian passenger, who had flown in from Dubai, was found in possession of 1,000 grams gold worth over Rs 45 lakh, Customs officials said on Monday.
The passenger reached at terminal number 3 on August 6.
He was intercepted after he had crossed the Green Channel and was approaching towards the exit gate. On thorough checking of his baggage, nothing suspicious was found. However, on a search of his person, two gold chains, weighing 1,000 grams and valued at Rs 45,34,125, were recovered from him.
Upon his arrival at the Mumbai airport to a cheering welcome by friends and relatives, Mr Ansari said he would try to get a job and then find a suitable match for himself.
Abdul Sheikh, the accused, allegedly followed the woman actor in his car in suburban Khar area. He also allegedly abused her using filthy language the actor said in her complaint.
In a complaint, 17 flat buyers alleged that they had paid around Rs. 1.98 crore for booking flats in an upcoming project in Ghaziabad in 2011 but the housing project did not take off.
The high court noted that neither the probe nor the trial was fair in the case, lodged following a complaint by his daughter, which resulted in him being sentenced to 10 years in jail.
