Pathankot: India Trashes Pakistani Report As 'Total Concoction'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 05 Apr, 2016 10:56 AM
India on Tuesday termed as "total concoction" a Pakistan report, quoting sources in the JIT team that visited India, that the Pathankot attack had been staged by India.

"The report in Pakistan Today is a total concoction. While in India, the JIT took onboard the detailed evidence which was shared by NIA," sources said.

"Since the JIT collected evidence in accordance with a Pakistani law which applies to Pakistani citizens committing an offence abroad, the involvement of Pakistanis in the Pathankot attack is self evident," the sources added.

Pakistan Today, quoting sources in the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) said "the attack was a drama staged to malign Pakistan".

National Investigation Agency (NIA) spokesperson Sanjeev Singh told IANS: "We had provided all kind of information sought by the five-member Pakistani team. The report being run on news channels is quoting sources. We have not had any talk with Pakistani officials on this so far."

The Pakistan Today report said that the JIT report, which will be submitted to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the next few days, has concluded that Indian authorities had prior information about the terrorists.

The report also quoted a member of the JIT as saying that National Investigation Agency officer Tanzil Ahmad's murder on Saturday night in Uttar Pradesh showed that "Indian establishment wants to keep the matter under wraps".

When saying 'no' empowered these women
As a child-bride, activist Sampat Pal's mother-in-law sternly instructed her to have dinner only after everyone in the family had eaten. She agreed, but a part of her rebelled against this gender discrimination. And a day came when she could take it no more and ate before everyone else did. That very moment forever changed the course of life.
