Darpan News Desk IANS, 26 Jul, 2014 08:41 AM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday remembered the "indomitable courage" of the Kargil war martyrs on the 15th Vijay Diwas (Victory Day).

"We remember the indomitable courage and sacrifice of our armed forces on Kargil Vijay Diwas. The nation salutes these brave martyrs," Modi tweeted.

In a tweet that followed in Hindi, the prime minister said the day was a reminder of the valour and sacrifice of the brave soldiers.

The Indian Army observes July 26 as Vijay Diwas every year to commemorate the sacrifices of its soldiers and also celebrate its victory in the 60-day-long Kargil War in 1999.
