Pune Housemaid’s Visiting Card Goes Viral, Gets Job Offers From Across Country

Darpan News Desk IANS, 08 Nov, 2019 10:37 PM

Geeta Kale, a domestic help in Pune, has been flooded with job offers from all corners of India. The reason - a business card that one of her employers, Dhanashree Shinde, designed for her.

“Ghar Kaam Maushi in Bavdhan. Aadhaar card verified,” reads the visiting card that has gone viral on social media. It all began when Shinde came back from work and found her house help Kale visibly upset. On inquiring, she found out that Kale had lost work at a house.

Within 24 hours, Shinde was able to design and print around 100 smart business card with Kale’s name on it describing her work and salary per chore. She then went on to guide Kale, who she fondly calls “Maushi” to hand them out around the neighbourhood.

However, Shinde’s attempt to help turned out to be bigger than she expected it to be. A picture of her visiting card soon went viral on social media and since then Kale’s phone has not stopped ringing. Shinde later reposted the story, which was shared by Asmita Javdekar, founder, Creative Nurturer at Aatman.

According to the post, from the time the visiting card has gone viral, “Maushi’s phone just hasn’t stopped ringing!” and job offers have poured in from all across the country. Moreover, Kale has handed over the phone to Shinde to manage the “incessant enquires.”
