Punjab: Parents Allege Their 13-Yr-Old Son Jaskaran Singh Lost Kidney Due To School's Negligence

    Parents of Class IX student who lost his kidney as he did not received first aid on time filed a police complaint on Sunday against principal and staff members of Guru Nanak Public School, Mullanpur Dakha.

     

    Parents of Jaskaran Singh (13), alleged that the school failed to provide medicine to their son while he along with other students went on a school picnic at a water park in Patiala. Jaskaran from Rattowal village is currently undergoing treatment at the Deep Hospital.

     

    Inspector Bikramjit Singh, SHO, Mullanpur Dakha police station said, “Jaskarn’s parents have alleged that the teachers did not pay attention to their son when he sustained an injury. The principal has denied the allegations. He said that first aid was provided to the child.”

     
     
     
     

    He said, “Statements of both parties have been recorded and final report will be submitted to the SSP. Since the incident occurred in Patiala, the case might be shifted to Sanaur police station in Patiala.”

     

    Principal Ravi Kant said, “The incident occurred on May 31 when Class IX and X students went to school picnic at Fun City, Patiala. The boy sustained an internal injury while sliding and playing with friends. It was an internal injury and there was no apparent bleeding, however, the child was immediately given first aid by the doctor.”

     

    Kant said, “We spoke to the parents of the child and dropped him at 6.30 pm. The parents first went to a family doctor and then at 10 pm brought the child to the Deep Hospital. During medical investigation, the complications showed up. The delay was on the part of parents and now they are making a big issue.”
