Punjab Police launch crackdown on accomplices of gangster Goldy Brar

Chandigarh, Sep 21 (IANS) The Punjab Police on Thursday launched a statewide crackdown on the accomplices of Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar.

Brar is an accused in the killing of singer Sidhu Moosewala. Satinderjeet Singh, alias Goldy Brar, a native of Muktsar Sahib, went to Canada on a student visa in 2017.

He is an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Brar has been listed among Canada's 25 most wanted fugitives in the country.

Wanted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for murder, Brar's name figured in the 'Bolo (Be On the Lookout) Program'.

His life-sized cutout among all 25 fugitives has been displayed at Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square.

'Absurd, motivated': India rejects Canada's allegations over killing of Hardeep Nijjar

India on Tuesday rejected claims by the Canada government that it had an involvement in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Terming them as "absurd and motivated" the external affairs ministry in a statement said, "We have seen and reject the statement of the Canadian Prime Minister in their Parliament, as also the statement by their Foreign Minister. Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has arrested an inter-state drug trafficker and recovered 1.5 kg of heroin worth over Rs 1.5 crore in the international market. The drug trafficker was identified as Juned Khan alias Juber, (31), a resident of Bilaspur in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said on Tuesday.
