  • Punjab sees a surge in COVID19 cases recording highest daily case counts

Prior to a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and state chief ministers tomorrow, India has hit a milestone with over 20,000 cases  in just a day for 6 days in a row. 

According to government officials the state of Maharashtra, is the topmost contributor to daily case counts and active cases has been looking at a second wave unless preventative measures are taken to curb the spread of the virus. 

Captain Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister of Punjab posted a video message via Twitter regarding the immunization plan for the state. 

Punjab takes the number 2 spot as the biggest contributor to cases to take place within 24 hours after Maharashtra. The state of Kerala comes in at number 3. Other states include Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, MP, Delhi, and Haryana that continue to see a spike in the number of cases. 

Maharashtra saw the highest daily cases sitting  at 15,051; Punjab 1,818 and Kerala 1,054.

Meanwhile, the Farmers are sitting firm in the ongoing conflict with the Modi government. Bharat Kisan Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait announcing that he is ready to die. He also claimed that the electricity and water supply have been cut at the site.
