RCMP Locate 'Armed And Dangerous' Man In Burnaby After 'Inadvertent Release'

Darpan News Desk , 07 Dec, 2017 12:48 PM
With the assistance of Metro Vancouver Transit Police, Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services, Coquitlam RCMP, and Burnaby RCMP, Dean Zastowny has been arrested. Zastowny was inadvertently released from custody late last week and was unlawfully at large.

On December 5, 2017, at approximately 10:12 p.m., Burnaby RCMP received a report of a robbery in the 4100-block of North Road.

Police attended but the suspect had already fled prior to police arrival. A description of the suspect was shared with partner agencies and at approximately 10:17 p.m. Zastowny was located by Metro Vancouver Transit Police at a nearby SkyTrain station and was arrested.

A quick response and coordination between partner agencies played a significant role in affecting this arrest.

Prolific offenders often move between multiple jurisdictions and therefore sharing information is essential, says Corporal Daniela Panesar, spokesperson for the Burnaby RCMP.
