Saudi Police Probing Deaths of 2 Indians

IANS, 01 Nov, 2017 11:46 AM
Police in Saudi Arabia are investigating the deaths of two unidentified Indian workers whose decomposed bodies were found north of capital Riyadh, a media report said today.

On a tip-off from the security guard of a holiday resort in the Al-Rumeih district, police found the two bodies in a room where liquor had been brewed, Arab News reported.

According to the police, the guard smelt the stench coming from a room, which was occupied by the Indian workers.

Police broke open the room and found the bodies of the Indian workers, whose ages were estimated at between 30 and 40 years.

Police said that initial investigations showed that there was no evidence of violence and and ruled out any criminal motives in the case.

However, the bodies have been sent for forensic test to determine the exact cause of the death.

Confirming the two deaths, an Indian embassy official told the newspaper that the mission did not have more details of the case.

He, however, added that the embassy would extend its support to the authorities to find out the cause of the deaths and help the families of the deceased.
