School Principal Arrested For Seeking Sexual Favours From Girls In Sirsa Village

IANS, 02 Aug, 2017 11:48 AM
Police on Wednesday arrested the principal of a private school at Sant Nagar in Sirsa for sexually harassing girl students by making lewd remarks and showing them porn videos.

Randhir Singh (45), principal of Oasis Public School at Sant Nagar village of Sirsa, has been booked under Section 10 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 354-A (sexual harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, according to SHO of Rania police station Avtar Singh.

The SHO said during preliminary investigation, three girls aged 11, 15 and 17 respectively have come forward to narrate the misdeeds of the school principal.

“The girl aged 15 has informed the police that the accused used to call her to his office, made lewd remarks and sought sexual favours from her. When she spurned her offer, Randhir asked her to hand over a letter to another girl aged 17,” the SHO informed.

However, the girl whom the letter was delivered handed it over to her brother.

When the girl’s brother went to the principal with the letter to confront him, the principal allegedly swallowed the letter which was kept on the table and gulped water after it.

Later, the boy accompanied by some villagers went to the police and reported the matter.
