Chandigarh, June 6 (IANS) Congress leader and former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is undergoing a one-year jail sentence, was on Monday admitted in heptology ward of the PGIMER in Chandigarh due to liver-related problems, a statement said.
"He required further evaluation. He has been kept under observation and is stable now," Virender Singh, Head of the Department of Hepatology, said in a statement.
Sidhu was brought to the PGIMER from a jail in Patiala in the morning.
Gautam Gambhir, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections as the party's candidate in East Delhi, also said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief had a very negative vision.
Nirav Modi, who has been behind bars at Wandsworth prison in south-west London since his arrest last month, is set to be produced before a judge at Westminster Magistrates' Court via videolink from the jail.
"These lalten (lantern) wallahs too could have brought electricity to the homes of the people while they were in power. But they were busy lighting up their own clan," PM Modi said.
